How to Make the Most Delicious Mouth Watering Homemade Bone Broth
I’ve been on a beef bone broth kick now for a bit and have been procrastinating on making my own because I thought it would be a long process. Well, on the contrary, although the cooking phase takes some time (24 hours), the actual preparation phase is SO simple!
Some benefits of beef bone broth:
✔️helps to boost your immune system
✔️helps cleanse your body of toxins and impurities
✔️aids in digestion
✔️helps reduces cellulite
✔️helps kill candida
✔️improves joint health
When you make bone broth, make sure you use bones from grass-fed animals so you can truly unlock all the benefits.
How to make bone broth:
Step 1: BLANCH YOUR BONES to remove any impurities.
🐂 Place bones in a large pot and cover with water. Being to a boil and simmer aggressively for approx. 20 minutes.
Step 2: ROAST YOUR BONES to brown and caramelize them for better flavor
🐂Preheat oven to 400 degrees and roast them for approx. 30 mins. I also added celery, carrots, onions, and garlic to mine at this stage but you don’t have to. You can wait until the next step to add them in, it’s your preference.
Step 3: TIME TO COOK
🐂Place bones, and vegetables into a 6 quart slow cooker. Fill with water and add 2 tbsps apple cider vinegar (this helps pull out the important nutrients from the bones)
🐂Cover and set the slow cooker to low and cook for at least 18 hours but you can leave up to 36 hours (the house will smell amazing by the way!!)
🐂Once done, remove the bones and large pieces of veggies with a slotted spoon. Strain the broth in the slow cooker to catch all the excess pieces and allow it to cool slowly.
🐂Once it has fully cooled you can remove the layer of fat and discard it or use it for cooking (or in my case, feed it to the dog, she loves it!)
Enjoy a cup of bone broth each day and pay attention to how amazing you feel!
